The International Cricket Council ICC has officially launched this world cup 2023 in India and announced on August 12, 2019. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will be hosted by India, as the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will be 13th edition of men's cricket world cup, and the first time that whole competition will be held in India.
In this match league(Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2), there are two and half years with the total of seven teams and 21 series having 126 matches of One Day Internationals are included.
Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 in which we seen 126 One Day(ODI) International matches will be played in such a way of 21 Tri-Series and that will set a new qualification structure for ICC Men's Cricket World Cup qualification at all. It whole started after one month of England crowned ICC Cricket World Champions 2019.
The Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 is just a start to the road of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 India which is just two steps away. this Men's CWC League 2 comes beneath the Men's Cricket World Cup Super League. In CWC League 2 we will be gonna see more competition between these seven teams. The teams' names are Oman, PNG, Namibia, Nepal, Scotland, UAE and USA. The each team from above list is set to play 36 ODI international matches from month August 2019 to January year 2022.
From August 14 to 21, the teams Scotland, PNG and Oman had played the Tri-Series between each other at Mannofield Park. Where each team had played four ODI International Matches. For winning team, there will be added two points into their Men’s CWC League 2 table per each match win. After the completion of the 21 Tri-Series, the Top three teams will go through the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier which will be held in year 2022.
The four teams from the bottom of table will be dropped into the Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-Off 2022. Which is another opportunity for them to go through ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 India. These four teams will be joined by the League A and B winners of Challenge. From them, the Top two remaining teams from them will be participating in ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 India.
The seven competitive teams from Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 which are set to play the 36 One Day(ODI) International matches for almost two and half years, and are providing the real cricket celender calendar for Associated Members of that league.The challenge Leagues (League A and League B) will be providing the opportunity for Associated teams to play competitive cricket with them and to give them chances to climb at top ladder. It will be more exciting to see the clash of these seven teams for two and half years for making their way to the ICC International Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 India.
The below list teams for ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Challenge Leagues(League A and League B) has already confirmed, the Challenge League A Top six sides which are confirmed. Are Canada, Denmark, Malaysia, Qatar, Singapore and Vanuatu. Where as In Challenge League B top six teams are Bermuda, Hong Kong, Italy, Jersey, Kenya and Uganda.
Each year, there will be a six teams tournament format will be played. And as per schedule there will be each team will play five matches in annually tenure in that tournament. The matches will be classified with the list status, such as List-A Leagues will have the List-A status and the List-B Leagues will have the List-B status.As per ICC announcement, the first challenge League A will be played in September year 2019 accordingly.
