India women have named their squads for their upcoming ODIs and three T20I series against South Africa cricket team. They have included 15 years old Indian cricket player Shafali Verma in their squad for the shortest format game.
Shafali Verma played an impressive cricket in Women’s T20 Challenger earlier this year and gotten the victory for her team, her that performance impressed the selection committee. She smashed 34 off 31 balls to win the game over Trailblazers, after that she had been praised high from her teammates. Specially from England’s cricket woman player Danni Wyatt.
"Shafali Verma is going to be the next superstar for India probably in a year or so. I think she'll break into India team,” said Danni Wyatt.

Shafali Verma was born in Rohtak, Haryana in January 28, year 2004. Shafali's current age is 15 years and 221 days. The major teams in wich Shafali Verma played are "Haryana Women" , "India Women Board President XI" and "Velocity". Shafali Verma has a right handed batting style and Shafali also bowls Right-arm offbreak. Shafali Verma has played her recent matches from cricket team "Velocity".
The selected squad for first three T20Is does not feature Mithali Raj. Mithali announced her retirement from T20I cricket earlier this week.So Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the Indian women team in T20I series in their very first international assignment since their one of previous T20I series against England women cricket team in March. The all upcoming T20I series between India women and South Africa women will be payed in Surat.
The skipper Harmanpreet Kaur who missed the entire home series against England cricket team due to her injury rehab. Harmanpreet Kaur will now be seen in back to the charge.
Mithali Raj will remain the Indian in ODI series and Mithali Raj will lead the Indian women team after the T20I series conclusion which will be leaded by Harmanpreet Kaur in Surat. The all three ODIs between India women and South Africa Women will be played in Vadodara from 9 to 14 October.
Including Mithali Raj who had recently announced her retirement earlier this week, the left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht, the middle-order battter Bharti Fulmali and the uncapped left-arm pacer Komal Zanzad miss out from India women team squad.
The uncapped in ODIs Priya Punia has been called up in India women team for the format of the 50-overs game. while D Hemalatha will be seen in the line for making her comeback, after she been left out from India women team squad against England women cricket team in a home series. Mona Meshram the Middle-order batter , all-rounder Harleen Deol and Indian women team's back-up wicket keeper R Kalpana are miss out from the Indian women team squad for upcoming series against South Africa.
