#5 India vs New Zealand (ICC knockout final at Nairobi October 15, 2000)
India set a target of 265 runs for victory to New Zealand, slowly and steadily team India brought down New Zealand's run rate by taking five wickets within 140 runs. Only for Chris Cairns century and Chris Harris who scored 46 runs, they both joint a century partnership as New Zealand reached the target with two balls spare.
#4 England vs West Indies(ICC Champions Trophy final at London September 25 2004)
England set a target of 218 runs and then they took West Indian's eight wickets at just 147. England looked good enough to win the match and lift the ICC trophy, but then Courtney Browne and Ian Bradshaw came together and slowly and steadily they chased down the target of 218 and won the match for West Indies with seven balls remaining.
#3 England vs India (ICC Champions Trophy final at Birmingham, Jun 23 2013)
This 50 overs match was reduced to a Twenty20 match between England and India. India set a target of just 129 runs and England was cruising at a point, but suddenly the spinners came into the bowling attack and turned the match upside down. England needed 15 runs for the victory in the final over and R Ashwin gave away just nine runs, and India won their second Champions Trophy.
#2 England vs West Indies(ICC World T20 final at Kolkata, Apr 3 2016)
England set a target of 155 runs with help of Joe Root's brilliant 54 runs from 34 balls. West Indies played steadily at the start and at last West Indies needed 19 of the last over against England, and Carlos Brathwaite smashed the four consecutive sixes to Ben Stokes, as West Indies clinched their second ICC World T20 title with two balls remaining.
#1 New Zealand vs England(ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 final at Lord's, Jul 14 2019)
Hundred overs and an extra one over to defeat the side wasn't enough to differentiate the two teams England and New Zealand. As both times the teams would tie at the same runs. Thanks to the huge dive performance by Benjamin Andrew Stokes ( Ben Stokes ), from the wakeless decisions by the Umpires and a team with the most boundaries in the match would win in the event of the tied super over and declared England as the winners of the most incredible cricket finals ever.
Hope you enjoyed reading this article, also did you notice that England is associated with four of these finals and New Zealand and West Indies been associated twice in the list, isn't interesting ? let us know about your interests below
